Honda Overview

Honda is among the world’s largest and most popular automobile manufacturers. This Japanese company has been the leader when it comes to motorcycles since 1959. Its cars are also popular all over the world.

Honda started the operations in Pakistan by partnering with Atlas Group in 1992. Since then, it has strengthened its roots in the country by introducing popular cars such as City and Civic. The company introduced 5th gen Civic and 3rd gen City in 1992 (CBU) and 1997 respectively. After these sedans, the Honda Atlas cars also introduced the Accord (premium sedan) in the country. It also introduced the Honda CRV (compact crossover SUV). In 2017, the company brought a 7-seater sub-compact SUV, BRV.

Honda Civic

The 5th generation Honda Civic was introduced in Pakistan in 1992. At that time, it was sold as CBU until its production started in 1994. The latest 11th generation Honda Civic is now available in Pakistan. It comes in three variants (1.5L Turbo M-CVT, Oriel 1.5L Turbo M-CVT, and RS 1.5L Turbo LL-CVT). There are some differences in the engine specs and features of these variants.

The 1st generation of Honda Civic (hatchback) was introduced in 1972 and was available until 1979.

The 6th generation City is being sold in Pakistan at the moment. It is offered in 5 variants (1.2L MT, 1.2L CVT, 1.5L CVT, 1.5 L Aspire MT, and 1.5 L Aspire CVT). Their engine specs and features vary depending upon the variant.

City 1st generation (hatchback) was introduced in 1981 and remained until 1986.

The 2nd generation City (hatchback) came into existence in 1986 and remained in production until 1993.

Its 3rd generation was introduced after some delay in 1996 and remained in production until 2002.

The 4th generation City came in 2002 and its production ended in 2008.

Its 5th generation was introduced in 2008 and remained available until 2014.

Honda City 6th generation came in 2014 and is still being produced in some countries.

Honda Accord is a premium sedan offered by the company in Pakistan. Currently, its latest generation (10th) is available in Pakistan. Its 1.5 L DOHC inline 4 Cylinders, 16 Valves , VTEC Turbo PGM -FI, 1,498cc engine produces around 180 hp and 233 N.m torque.

5th generation Honda CR-V is a compact crossover SUV available in Pakistan. Its i-VTEC, SOHC, 16-valve, In-line 4 cylinder, 1,997cc engine produces around 113 hp and 189 N.m torque.

Honda BR-V

Atlas Honda introduced the 7-seater sub-compact SUV BRV (1st generation) in Pakistan in 2017. Its 2nd generation is already available globally though. Its 4 Cylinder, 16 Valve, SOHC i-VTEC, electronic fuel injection, 1,497cc engine produces around 118 hp and 145 N.m torque.

Features 16-inch alloy wheels, DRLs, 7-inch display, 4 speakers, airbags, rear camera, ABS, EBD, security alarm, etc.

In future, Honda is expected to locally manufacture Vezel/HR-V in Pakistan.
