Description
The UTOOL BIT 3003 is a reliable paint thickness meter designed to measure varnish coatings with an accuracy of 20 microns. It helps assess whether a vehicle has been repainted without requiring batteries or calibration, making it a long-lasting tool.
This meter excels at detecting paint layers that are not visible to the naked eye on vehicles made of sheet metal and galvanized steel, revealing any hidden accident repairs beneath the vehicle's finish.
Easy-to-Read Micron Scale
The BIT 3003 features a color-coded micron scale, allowing users to easily determine varnish or putty thickness, even for first-time users:
- Blue: Coating thickness of 0.0-100 microns (thin layer of varnish)
- Green: Original varnish thickness of 100-200 microns (note: newer models may indicate a thin layer of second varnish at 180 microns)
- Yellow: Coating thickness of 200-300 microns (indicative of repairs with a second varnish)
- Red: Coating thickness of 300-520 microns (surface following metal plate repair and a second layer of varnish)
- Black: Coating thickness exceeding 520 microns (surface with putty and varnish, approximately 0.5mm of putty)
