Civil Engineer / Architect – Commercial Plans & Takeoff Specialist
Location: office based. Autobahn road Hyderabad
Job Type: Full-Time
Civil Engineer or Architect with strong experience in commercial building plans and construction drawings. This role focuses on analyzing architectural and construction plans for commercial projects across the United States, specifically to extract data and perform takeoffs related to signage and specialty construction divisions.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and interpret commercial architectural and construction drawings and specifications.
Perform accurate quantity takeoffs and material estimates for signage and specialty scopes (e. g. , interior/exterior signage, ADA signage, wayfinding, specialty features).
Identify relevant details from bid documents to assist in proposal development and scope clarification.
Collaborate with internal teams (estimating, project management, design) to ensure accurate quoting and execution.
Maintain organized documentation of drawing reviews, takeoffs, and project notes.
Stay up to date with relevant building codes and accessibility guidelines (especially ADA and IBC requirements) as they relate to signage and specialty features.
Communicate effectively with general contractors, architects, and other stakeholders when clarifying scope or project details.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
1+ years of experience working with commercial construction documents.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural plans, elevations, sections, and detail drawings.
Experience with digital takeoff tools (e. g. , Bluebeam Revu, PlanSwift, On-Screen Takeoff) is strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of U. S. commercial construction standards and practices.
Knowledge of ADA signage requirements and other specialty construction divisions is a plus.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
Experience working with signage or specialty subcontractors.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Familiarity with bid processes and RFI development.
