We are looking for a Microbiologist Internee to join our team and support quality, hygiene, and laboratory-related work.
Position: Microbiologist Internee
Job Type: Internship
Location: On-site
Duration: 3–6 Months (extendable based on performance)
Key responsibilities:
The internee will be involved in routine microbiological activities, including but not limited to:
Basic microbiological testing of food / water / environmental samples
Microbial limit testing (TVC, Yeast & Mold, Coliforms, E. coli, etc. )
Sample receiving, labeling, and handling as per SOPs
Preparation of culture media (solid & liquid), sterilization, and storage
Performing aseptic techniques during plating and transfers
Media pouring, incubation, and colony counting
Basic pathogen detection awareness (Salmonella, Staphylococcus, Vibrio – exposure level)
Cleaning, washing, and sterilization of labware
Maintaining records, worksheets, and logbooks
Following GMP, GLP, and lab safety rules
Supporting senior microbiologists during audits or inspections
Requirements:
The candidate must already know the following basics:
Fundamental microbiology concepts
Difference between selective, differential, and enrichment media
Basic media and Media preparation calculations and autoclaving principles
Understanding of incubation temperatures & times
Colony morphology basics
Basic lab instruments (incubator, autoclave, balance, pH meter)
Candidates from Korangi / Landhi areas will be preferred
