The Lenovo Flex System x240 M5 Compute Node (commonly referred to under the IBM/Lenovo brand) is a standard-width blade server designed for high-performance virtualization and database workloads within the Flex System Enterprise Chassis. It supports Intel Xeon E5-2600 v3/v4 processors and utilizes TruDDR4 memory.
Key Specifications for the x240 M5 (Models 9532):
• Processor: Up to two Intel Xeon E5-2600 v4 series processors (up to 22 cores per socket) or v3 series processors.
• Memory: 24 DIMM slots supporting up to 1.5 TB of 2400 MHz (v4) or 2133 MHz (v3) TruDDR4 LRDIMM/RDIMM memory.
• Storage (Internal): Dual 2.5-inch hot-swap bays (supporting SAS/SATA/SSD/NVMe PCIe) or four 1.8-inch SSD bays.
• Storage (External): Supports the optional Flex System Storage Expansion Node for an additional 12 hot-swap 2.5-inch drive bays.
• Networking: Two standard 10GbE ports, with options for up to 32 virtual I/O ports via mezzanine cards, including 10GbE, 40GbE, FCoE, and 16Gb Fibre Channel.
• Expansion: Two PCIe 3.0 x16 mezzanine card slots.
• Management: Integrated Management Module II (IMM2.1) with 16MB video memory; supports Lenovo XClarity Administrator.
• Form Factor: Standard-width node designed for the Flex System Enterprise Chassis.
